The Caribbean Agricultural Health and Food Safety Agency (CAHFSA)
The Caribbean Agricultural Health and Food Safety Agency (CAHFSA) is honoured to participate in the Caribbean Week of Agriculture (CWA) 2024, which will take place from October 7th to 11th at the Arnos Vale Sporting Complex in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. This year’s theme, “Climate Smart Agriculture for a Sustainable Future,” highlights the urgent need for resilience and sustainability in our food systems. This mission aligns seamlessly with CAHFSA’s commitment to ensuring agricultural health and food safety throughout the Caribbean. We are also excited to celebrate our 10th anniversary during this significant event, marking a decade of dedicated service and collaboration to enhance the region’s agricultural framework.
CWA is a platform for agriculture stakeholders to collaborate on food security and rural development issues. By facilitating collaboration and knowledge exchange, this year’s event aims to promote climate-smart strategies that enhance the sustainability of our agricultural landscape. As we face climate change, working collectively becomes indispensable for transforming our farming practices to meet future demands.
CAHFSA is proud to contribute to the broader objectives of CWA 2024, including strengthening regional collaboration, promoting climate-smart actions, and accelerating the 25 by 2025 Initiative. We look forward to connecting with stakeholders from the agricultural sector and working together towards a resilient and sustainable future for Caribbean agriculture.
The Agency will host two key sessions during CWA 2024 that are critical for advancing our discussions on agriculture in the face of climate challenges:
1. The CAHFSA Symposium: Focusing on the latest developments in agricultural health and food safety, this session will highlight innovative approaches to maintaining sanitary and phytosanitary measures in the face of climate change.
2. Pesticide Management: Our panel of experts, renowned in the field, will discuss sustainable pest control methods, regulatory frameworks, and strategies to minimize environmental impacts while ensuring crop protection.
These sessions reflect CAHFSA’s commitment to promoting safe and sustainable agricultural practices across the Caribbean. We invite all CWA 2024 participants to join us in these informative and engaging discussions.
We invite you to our Regional Agricultural Trade Show and Expo booth. This will be an excellent opportunity to learn more about CAHFSA’s ongoing work, celebrate our 10th anniversary, and discover how we can assist you in fulfilling your agricultural health and safety needs. Together, let’s build a climate-smart and food-secure Caribbean!
